Student Information

  • Gender (collected solely for avatar selection and visual personalisation within the VR application)

  • Incorrect answers
  • Teacher assigned subject levels

  • Last played date and time
  • Time spent within learning activities
  • Speech transcripts generated during speech-enabled educational activities

Home Education Accounts

For home education users, we may also collect account information necessary to provide the service.

Guest and Library Use

Where TRVR is used in guest, demonstration, or library mode, personal information is not stored and progress information is not retained.

Children’s Information

TRVR does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children outside of authorised educational use of the platform.


Legal Basis for Processing

TRVR processes personal information only where there is a lawful basis to do so under UK data protection legislation.

For schools, information is processed to provide educational services, reporting, progress monitoring, and account management.

For home education users, information is processed to provide access to educational services and maintain educational records requested by the user.

The information collected is limited to that required for the operation of the service.


Data Storage and Security

TRVR takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Personal information is stored using Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication and Firestore.

Our Firestore database is hosted in the United Kingdom (London region).

Security measures include:

  • HTTPS encrypted connections
  • Firebase Authentication
  • Access controls restricting users to authorised information only
  • School level separation of data
  • Parent only access to home education accounts
  • Secure cloud infrastructure provided by Google Firebase

While no online service can guarantee absolute security, TRVR takes appropriate measures to protect personal information.


Third Party Services

TRVR uses selected third-party providers to support its services.

Google Firebase

Firebase Authentication and Firestore are used for authentication and secure storage of educational information.

Stripe

Payments for home education services are processed securely through Stripe.

Payment card information is processed by Stripe and is not stored by TRVR.

WordPress

The TRVR website and user portals are delivered through WordPress using custom functionality developed specifically for the platform.


Additional Information Regarding Gender Data

Gender information is collected solely to support avatar selection and visual personalisation within the VR application.

Gender information is not used for profiling, analytics, advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the operation of the educational service.


Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, individuals may have rights including:

  • The right to access personal information
  • The right to correct inaccurate information
  • The right to request deletion of personal information
  • The right to object to certain processing activities

Schools, teachers, and home education users can manage much of their information directly through the platform.

Data Retention and Deletion

TRVR retains personal information only for as long as necessary to provide its services.

Student records, educational progress, assessment results, transcripts, and related information are retained while the associated school or home education account remains active.

Authorised teachers and home education users may delete student information through the platform.

Where a school subscription or home education account is cancelled, associated personal information is deleted without unnecessary delay.

TRVR does not maintain separate customer data backups containing deleted records.


Information Not Collected

TRVR does not intentionally collect or store:

  • Medical information
  • SEND diagnoses
  • EHCP information
  • Behavioural records
  • Health records
  • Biometric information
  • Voice recordings

TRVR may store text transcripts generated during speech-enabled educational activities but does not store voice recordings.


Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to our services, legal obligations, or security practices.
